Yoh be still my Heart

I must be making up for lost time:

I've really gotten into this style of art. It's Japanese Gothic Lolita. He does monochromatic work. Old Pen style. I -might- just put up my attempts. But alas, his are better... sigh*

P.S. I translated it for you. Go Bablefish Go!

It's begging to look a lot like christmas...

Today I drooled all over my computer keys:

Perfect for disguising your too much turkey belly, and is long enough to keep the ass crack brigade at bay. Not to mention, they button make a waistline follow though to actually -gasp- make you look slim.

To accent the gold on the shirt, I would pair it would a cute chain necklace. A good example is the one above. Paper planes.

And slap on some sexy jeans and your favorite pair of heels and it's a party!

The Bachlorette Party

I think I might have overdone it. But I had a great time. My friend is getting married and I wanted to look fab for the festivities.

I decided to wear my Gap strapless steel grey bubble dress with my vintage golden fish solid perfume locket and  Anne Michele color block platform pumps. All found at my local Buffalo Exchange. A great store for terrific finds in either new or gently used conditions.

I also wore my new Merona Cream Brocade Drape Coat. Since I got it at Savers, It didn't have the sash with it. So I fashioned one out of a evening shawl. So now it has a navy blue tie sash.

The outfit was a hit.

Since I was  'tard and didn't bring MY camera. Pictures are still en route.

But I was so excited considering my compliments that night, I couldn't wait to re-tell.

Designers and their across the track knock offs

I LOVE SHOES! They are my life force, the "oh!" in my day. They make me feel amazing and princess like. No matter how crappy I feel, or what I -must- wear for work, my shoe are my decision. Not to mention, shoes always fit. Pants do not alway fit, dresses do not accomidate my ass and my boobs at the same time it seems. But shoes. They never judge. Period. However, I do not love the designer price tag accompanying some of my drool feasts while walking though  a Nordstrom's. They make my inner child weep and throw a tantrum of "WHY! God! Oh Why are these beautiful works of art so out of my reach?!"

But alas, I have found my savior in the internet and Google searches. Yes, I could go on E-Bay and find the shoe of my dreams and still pay a few hundred more than I was looking at. Even if it is less than buying retail. Or, I can be super thrifty and buy a good knock off. Yes, the days of Prado are still in effect. God Bless 'em.

Example A:

Buckle Boots I find mouthwatering.

Giuseppe Zanotti for Balmain Multi Buckle Boots

Mouthwatering design. I love the modern take on industrial with buckles.
Price: $1,605.00
That is more than I make in one paycheck! Ok, that may be scary to think for some of you. But really... that much for a pair of boots?! I Googled and within a minute I found it's cheap-assed-normal-people-budgeted sister.

Nasty Gal had it in stock as Additional Buckle Boot:

Now granted it is not as chic as the origional but for $58.00 bucks are you REALLY going to argue the details? I thought not. I get the style I want without having to eat ramen for the rest of the month and use the internet at the library.

So, fashion can be sensible and affordable.

Until next time,

My new Love: Esty

Esty.com has been a love of mine for quite some time. I love getting things that other people don't have and support self made artist. My artist hightlight this post is ATTILADESIGN. She makes these amazing designs that are so modern and can be added to just about any basic item to create some unique Haute Couture of your own. So even if someone -did- buy the same item, they won't be wearing what you're wearing. I was a -lil- shocked by her prices. I mean, I'm a poor broke college student for pete's sake! But in reality, she's not that bad, and it does directly to the artist. So, hell! Give into your need to be unique. Also I love that almost everything has straps. So you can adjust it to fit you, not the other way around. (ahem, you -all know what I mean. The girdles, the spanx, the ductape.)

Here's a taste:

This is the Rose Petal Leather Apron - Experimental Wearable Art - Romantic Couture Fashion - Distressed Fuchsia red - OOAK -

I would totally pair this with some skinny jeans and just a plain white tee and some killer shoes. I have a thing with the new Bordello line by Pleaser. Because you can get the shoe in every color -and- with optional sparkles. Hey! Don't mock the sparkles. Where would be without the Ruby Slipper in the Wizard of Oz. Those are some of the most iconic shoes ever.

Anywho, support the artists in the world who have the guys to put their shit out there. Esty you life.

Day One -- Mission Statment for the blog to end all Chubby Girl Blogs

This is the first post of a fashion blog for all of the women who love who they are. Even if that happens to be a size 10+ and you really hate that you can't find that awesome Ali Ro Two Tone Tank Dress dress in -our- size, doesn't mean we can't appreciate fashion.

I love reading fashion blogs and magazines. I love the tips and the tricks and the cloths that made me think I was seeing a mythical unicorn prancing across the pages. But I hated that by having a figure, even for my friends who don't have a zip code dedicated to the size of their ass, like i do, couldn't find those cloths in their size. But what was worse, is that these where the magazine claiming women empowerment, but never showed anyone on their pages beyond the age of 25 as a model, and definitely no one over a size 5. (Really I mean a size 2 but I wanted to give some leeway for the accesses that grace the covers.)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bitching about an industry that I love. But I just wanted an alternative for those who embrace their curves.

So, I decided I would take it upon myself, and through the inspiration of one of my favorite authors these days, Jen Lancaster, to tell my take on the world. My interests, my hardships with my weight, and most importantly, my love of shoes.

So, I hope this blog not only helps me to vent my shoe fixation, but also to help those who may not be a size 2 and their shoe love to expand and grow into new heights, (or just expanding into the hall closet for storage).

Chao,

Meg
